ECO Cultural Institute to Host Commemoration of Bilingual Poets of the ECO Region
As part of its ongoing efforts to preserve and promote the literary and cultural heritage of ECO member states, the ECO Cultural Institute will hold a special event entitled “A Shared Voice؛ Commemoration of the Bilingual Poets of the ECO Region” ، on Tuesday, 23 June 2026 (corresponding to 2 Tir 1405 in the Iranian calendar).
The program aims to introduce and examine the status of bilingual and multilingual poets in the ECO region and to highlight their role in strengthening cultural and literary ties among the peoples of the region. Through the creation of literary works in more than one language, these poets have made significant contributions to fostering intercultural dialogue and preserving the shared heritage of nations.
The event will feature speeches by Dr. Mehrdad Rakhshandeh, Executive Director of the ECO Cultural Institute; Dr. Ali Bayat, Head of the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at the University of Tehran; Prof. Dr Zahid Munir Amir, Chairman Urdu & Pakistan Studies Chair, University of Tehran, Iran; Dr. Mohammad Afsar Rahbin, Afghan researcher and translator; Dr. Noorali Nourzad, Professor at Khujand University, Tajikistan; and Ali Davoudi, Iranian poet.
The program, “A Shared Voice,” at the ECO Cultural Institute and will bring together scholars, poets, literature enthusiasts, and cultural activists.
