The ECO Cultural Institute will hold the international symposium "The Image of Abai's Thought in the Mirror of the ECO" to commemorate Hakim Abai Kunanbayuly, the prominent poet and thinker of Kazakhstan.
This scientific and cultural event, centered on celebrating the intellectual and literary heritage of this prominent sage and poet of the ECO region, provides a valuable opportunity to examine his personality dimensions and elucidate the profound impact of his thoughts in strengthening cultural ties and convergence among ECO member countries.
In this specialized meeting, Mr. Ambassador Mohammad Hassan, President of the ECO Cultural Institute, and Dr. Ontalap Onalbayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Tehran, will deliver speeches. Furthermore, prominent professors and researchers: Prof. Dr. Islam Zhemeney, Director of the Turan–Iran Research Center of Al-Farabi National University of Kazakhstan; Prof. Dr. Mehrem Ghorbanbek-kyzy Kulbayeva, Head of the Department of Folklore and Poetry at the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan; Prof. Dr. Norbay Jabbarov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Alisher Navoi Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature; and Dr. Mohammad-Amin Shahjouei, Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies, Iran, will analyze various dimensions of Abai's works and thoughts.
This ceremony will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026 (Shahrivar 2, 1405), from 11:00 to 12:30 at the premises of the ECO Cultural Institute.
