Tehran – September 2026 – The ECO Film Week will open in Tehran on Monday, 21 September, bringing together a selection of films from the ECO Member States and providing a platform for audiences to discover the diverse cinematic traditions and cultural narratives of the region.
Organized by the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI), the programme will showcase films representing different periods, genres and approaches to filmmaking across the ECO region. Through these cinematic works, audiences will have the opportunity to explore the cultural heritage, social realities, historical experiences and shared human values of the Member States.
The official opening ceremony of the ECO Film Week will be held on Monday, 21 September, from 17:00 to 18:00 at the ECO Cultural Institute in Tehran. The ceremony will be attended by Dr. Rakhshandeh, Executive Director of the ECO Cultural Institute, and Dr. Raed Farid-Zadeh, Head of the Cinema Organization of Iran.
Following the opening ceremony, the first screening of the programme, Ziba Sedayam Kon (Whisper My Name) from Iran, will take place at 18:00.

All screenings will be held at the ECO Cultural Institute in Tehran.
A special exhibition of selected film posters from ECO countries will also be held alongside the film screenings. The exhibition will present a visual journey through the history and development of cinema in the region, highlighting the artistic diversity of film poster design and its role in promoting and preserving cinematic heritage.
The ECO Film Week will form part of the ECO Cultural Institute's efforts to strengthen cultural cooperation among the Member States and create opportunities for greater interaction among filmmakers, artists, cultural professionals and audiences across the region.
The programme will continue through 24 September 2026 with screenings of selected films from the ECO Member States.
