TASHKENT – The President of the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI), H.E. Ambassador Muhammad Hassan, met with officials of Uzbekistan’s Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment to discuss opportunities for strengthening cultural and spiritual cooperation.
Ambassador Hassan visited the Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment of Uzbekistan (Respublika Maʼnaviyat va maʼrifat markazi) in Tashkent on 16 September 2026 as part of his visit to Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, Ambassador Hassan held discussions with Abbas Yunusov, Deputy Head of the Department for Social and Spiritual Affairs of Uzbekistan, and Bakhtiyor Khusanov, Chairman of the Association of Enlightenment of Uzbekistan.
Dr. Ahmet Akalın, Assistant Director of the ECO Cultural Institute, also accompanied the ECI President during the meeting.
The discussions focused on potential areas of cooperation between the ECO Cultural Institute and the Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, particularly in the fields of culture, spiritual values and the shared civilizational heritage of the ECO region.
The participants also exchanged views on strengthening cultural cooperation, organizing joint events and projects, enhancing the exchange of knowledge and experience, and developing sustainable mechanisms for institutional cooperation.
The meeting highlighted the potential for closer engagement between the two institutions in promoting cultural dialogue and cooperation across the ECO region.
