On 17 September 2026, a seminar on cultural diplomacy was held for students of the Department of International Relations at the Faculty of International Journalism of the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages (UzSWLU).
The seminar was hosted by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Alisher Matyakubov, and attended by the President of the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI), H.E. Ambassador Muhammad Hassan, and ECI Assistant Director Dr. Ahmet Akalın.
Held within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between ECI and the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages (UzSWLU), the seminar addressed the role of cultural diplomacy in international relations, the development of cultural relations between states and societies, and the importance of promoting national culture and heritage internationally. H.E. Ambassador Muhammad Hassan briefed the students on cultural cooperation among ECO Member States and ongoing initiatives in the fields of language, literature and the arts. Dr. Ahmet Akalın also provided information on the media literacy conferences organized by ECI.
At the end of the seminar, H.E. Ambassador Muhammad Hassan answered questions from the students. The seminar concluded with an exchange of views on international diplomacy and intercultural communication.
