The results of the ECO Mobile Photography Festival, held under the theme “Transmission of Intangible Heritage,” have been announced.
The Festival was organised to encourage photography enthusiasts across the ECO region to document and highlight various aspects of intangible cultural heritage and the ways in which traditions, skills, knowledge and cultural practices are preserved and transmitted from one generation to another.
The Festival received an encouraging response, with around 1,800 photographs submitted by 616 participants. Following the completion of the submission period, the photographs underwent a comprehensive evaluation and judging process. The entries were judged by Amir Jalilvand, a renowned Iranian photographer, and a total of 50 photographs were selected as the Festival’s top works.
Top Three Winners
🥇 First Place
Seyed Mehrdad Sharifi – Iran
Prize: USD 300
🥈 Second Place
Shahzad Ali – Pakistan
Prize: USD 200
🥉 Third Place
Ghadir Vaghari Shorcheh – Iran

In addition to the cash prizes, all three winners will receive Certificates of Appreciation in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the Festival.
50 Selected Photographs
Alongside the three top-winning photographs, 47 additional photographs were selected, bringing the total number of selected photographs to 50.
As participants were permitted to submit more than one photograph, the names of some photographers appear more than once in the list of selected works.
The list of all 50 selected photographs, together with the names and countries of the photographers, is attached to this announcement.
The 50 selected photographs will also be featured in a Festival booklet, providing a lasting record of the selected works and the creative contributions received from participants across the ECO region.
The ECO Cultural Institute congratulates the winners and extends its sincere appreciation to all 616 participants who contributed to the Festival. The strong participation and diversity of the submitted photographs provided a valuable visual representation of the rich intangible cultural heritage of the ECO region.
