Prof. Iftikhar Husein Arif called on Mr. Ilhom Akramev , distinguished Ambassador of Republic of Uzbekistan to Tehran at the Embassy on June 2, 2013.
During the meeting, the two sides streessd the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the areas of culturte and art.
Expressing his pleasure over the assumption of Prof. Iftikhar Husein Arif as ECI new President Mr. Akramev stated that he is renownednot only in Pakistan but also worldwide as a prominent poet and cultural figure.
Referring to the high profile of Uzbekistan in ECO region, ECI President expreed his hope that the accession of the country to ECI will broaden bilateral relations.
Prof. Arif requested the distinguished Uzbek Ambassador to introduce some well-known poets of the country to participate in the poetry reading event, slated to be organized by the Institute in July.
