To strengthen cultural ties among the countries in the ECO region, ECO Cultural Institute in cooperation with Iran and Eurasia Research Institute (Iras), National Commission for UNESCO in Iran, Iranian Society of Cultural Studies and Communications, Department of Central Eurasian Studies at Tehran University and the Dialogue of Civilizations Global Forum ( based in Russia) held a scholarly seminar titled "Cultural Convergence in Eurasia" on October 1, 2014 at the ECO Cultural Institute Headquarters.
At the seminar, well received by the large audience, Mohammad Reza Haji Karim Jabbari, Executive Director of ECO Cultural Institute, as the first speaker, in the context of a scientific lecture, analyzed the relation among identity, culture, and foreign policy in the ECO region.
Further, Prof. Elaheh Koolaee, Head of the Department of Central Eurasian Studies at Tehran University, Prof. Hadi Khaniki, Head of Iranian Society of Cultural Studies and Communications, Prof. Bahram Amir Ahmadian, university professor and researcher on Eurasia, Prof. Mandana Tisheh Yar, Vice-President of Eurasia Research Institute (Iras), Prof. Abbasali Vafaei, Head of Faculty of Literature and Foreign Languages, Allama Tabatabai University, Prof. Mohsen Heidarnia, university professor and Researcher on Eurasia, Hojjatoleslam Prof. Mohammad Reza Kalan Faribaei, university professor and researcher on Religions Studies and Prof. Ebrahim Khodayar, university professor and researcher on Eurasia also delivered their address at the seminar.
Relation between Persian and other Languages spoken in Eurasia, globalization and cultural convergence in Eurasia, a review on the role and impact of the Iranian cultural on regional cultural integration, dialogue among cultures; a factor for the cultural convergence in Eurasia, role of dialogue among religions in international cultural strategies in Eurasia, common cultural origins of Iran and Central Asia, dialogue of culture and civilization; a global strategy - regional case in Eurasia, were the other issues that have been discussed at the seminar.
