The 28th Council of Permanent Representatives (CPR) Meeting of ECO Cultural Institute was held at ECI Headquarters with the presence of Ambassadors from ECO Member States.
According to ECI Public Relations, at the beginning of the meeting, ECI President, Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Mazaheri, in his speech briefed the meeting on the activities carried out by the Institute in 2017 and stated that although the institute has received 40% of the contributions from the member states, 86% of the planned activities has been implemented."
He continued: "holding three international conferences in the areas of women, culture, art, and environment; five exhibitions on culture and arts; seven sessions of discourses on literature; six workshops on various themes of culture, visual arts and music; two sports competitions for diplomats in fields of table tennis and billiards; signing MoUs for academic cooperation with universities and research centers; publication of two books and two journals of ECO Heritage on "Sports" and "National Libraries" in ECO region and obtaining an International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) for publications is just some of these activities. "
Representatives of ECO member states, while appreciated the efforts of Dr. Mazaheri and his colleagues at the Institute, said that "in spite of the limited financial resources, constructive activities has been carried out by the Institute."
Also at the meeting, a brief report of the 23rd Meeting of ECO Council of Ministers (COM) held on April 17th 2018 in Tajikistan was presented in which the ECO Cultural Institute's activities in the field of culture, literature and art had been appreciated and the member countries had been requested to provide support to the activities of ECO Cultural Institute.
The Council of Permanent Representatives is composed of ambassadors and representatives of the member countries of ECO Cultural Institute, which convenes its regular meetings to review and adopt the cultural and administrative activities of the Institute.
