On Tuesday August 28, 2018, the joint meeting of the ECO Cultural Attaches/Counselors was held at the ECI headquarters. Present at the meeting were Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Mazaheri, the ECI President, as well as the head and directors of the Information Technology and Digital Media Development Center of I.R.I Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
According to ECI Public Relations, during the event, Dr. Mazaheri highlighted the position of digital media in the world's future and announced the establishment of 'ECO Digital Publishers Union' in near future.
While pointing to the opportunities to be provided within the framework of the MoU signed with the Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance and Free Zones, Dr. Mazaheri added: "The development of digital exchanges in neighboring provinces of Iran with the ECO countries and free zones should be considered top priority'.
Moreover, he emphasized on the necessity of creating ECO Countries messaging app and asked the ECO Cultural Attaches and Counselors to seriously follow up the issue of the development of activities in digital arena.
The ECI President concluded his remarks announcing the readiness of this international organization for cooperation with the International Media Fair and also publishing a special issue of ECO Times monthly journal for this exhibition.
Elsewhere at the meeting, Dr. Morteza Mousavian, the head of the Information Technology and Digital Media Development Center of I.R.I Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, delivered his speech and extended his appreciation to ECI and the particular attention of Dr. Mazaheri, the head of this international organization, towards the area of publications and digital media, and presented a comprehensive report on the opportunities for dissemination of information and new job opportunities in digital area and announced his readiness for the establishment of 'ECO Digital Media Publishers Union' for the expansion of web-based activities across ECO countries.
The cultural attaches/counselors of the member states also expressed their gratitude towards the ECI President for paying special attention to the establishment of 'ECO Digital Media Publishers Union' in different areas of culture and media and acknowledged the initiative taken in this regard.
