Dr. Mazaheri Meets the Austrian Ambassador
Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Mazaheri, president of the ECO Cultural Institute, met with H.E. Mr. Stephan Scholtz, the ambassador of Austria at the Embassy venue on Wednesday April 24, 2019.

According to ECI public relations, Dr. Mazaheri pointed to the importance of green tourism for the development of tourism in ECO region and said: "We are working on a special program with Qeshm Geopark to the richness of which the cooperation of the Austrian Embassy can add." He further expressed ECI's readiness to cooperate with the Austrian embassy for organizing book launching ceremonies as well as film screening weeks.

The ECI president also pointed to the upcoming meeting of heads of ECO Museums in Tehran and invited the director of the Austrian National Museum to attend the meeting as VIP guest.

Mr. Stefan Schotz, the Austrian Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, also appreciated Dr. Mazaheri's outlooks on developing public diplomacy through different cultural mediums and stated: "The Austrian Embassy is fully ready to develop cooperation with the ECO Cultural Institute". "We are organizing a joint film festival with one of ECO member states (Afghanistan) which will be organized in 7 major Iranian cities", He further continued

Expressing his condolences for the casualties of the recent flash floods in Iran, the ambassador said: "Next week, the head of the UN Blue Shield, which is responsible for safeguarding the ancient monuments against natural disasters, is coming to Iran and will meet you too."

Saying that 40% of the activities of the Embassy during last year were organized in the field of music, the Austrian Ambassador proposed organizing joint music program with ECI in three areas of children's choirs, workshops and joint performances which was welcomed by the head of the ECO Cultural Institute.
