On Monday July 1, 2019, Mr. Cvetan Cvetkovski the new director of UNESCO Cluster Office in Tehran, met with Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Mazaheri, ECI president, at the headquarters of this international organization.
According to ECI public relations, at the meeting Dr. Mazaheri pointed to the previous cooperation of ECI, UNESCO and UN offices as well as other international organizations in Tehran and talked about the rich historical background of ECO region adding: "commemoration of the region's cultural and literary luminaries and proffering ECO Excellence Award to them could be organized with the cooperation of UNESCO cluster office in Tehran".
Moreover, the ECI president highlighted the common goals of ECI with other international institutions in Tehran and expressed hope that more fruitful results be gained through expanded cooperation.
In his remarks, Mr. Cvetkovski expressed his happiness over his meeting with Dr. Mazaheri and said: "it is great opportunity to hear your opinions and see cooperation potentials". He further underscored the viewpoints mentioned by the ECI president and added: "ECI is welcomed to cooperate in organizing the conference on the interaction of religions along the Silk Road".
Mr. Cvetkovski also pointed to the subject of exchange of common heritage along the Silk Road as one of the programs to be organized by UNESCO office in Tehran and expressed hope that ECI contributes to the program.
He concluded his remarks appreciating the points mentioned by Dr. Mazaheri and expressed that UNESCO office in Tehran is fully prepared to deepen ties with ECI.
