On Tuesday July 2, 2019, the first meeting of ECI and the Scientific Associations of University of Tehran was held at ECI headquarters.
Present at the meeting were Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Mazaheri and a group of prominent professors and heads of scientific associations of University of Tehran including Federation of Iran Biotechnology Centers (FIBS), Iran Pop Science Association, Iranian Bioinformatics Society (IBF) and Iranian Biophysics & Biochemistry Association (ISOBC).
According to ECI public relations, at the scientific-cultural meeting, participated by Dr. Moosavi-Movahedi, Dr. Habibi, Dr. Ayatollahi, Dr. Kavoosi, Dr. Ghoochian and Ladies Dr. Ebrahim Habibi and Dr. Taghavi, Dr. Mazaheri pointed to the focus of the institute on scientific research and cooperation with universities during the incumbent management period of ECI and appreciated the presence of the outstanding professors of University of Tehran at the meeting.
Dr. Ali Akbar Moosavi-Movahedi, the head of the Secretariat for the Advancement of Science and Technology in the Islamic World, appreciated the special attention being paid by the ECI president to the area of scientific research and cooperation with universities and expressed that he himself and his colleague are fully ready to cooperate with this international institution.
Further at the meeting, the parties discussed different areas of cooperation, establishment of the union of ECO countries biotechnology scientific associations, establishing a trilateral cooperation with Pakistan's ICCB, allocation of ECI's specialized journals to issues such as lifestyle, organizing cultural-scientific expert panels, visiting ECO peace farm, allocating postgraduate thesis to subjects pertaining ECO region, commemoration of luminaries of the region as well as organizing events on the subject of health and enlightenment.
