Dushanbe, the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan, will host Dushanbe International Film Festival will be held on April 13-18, 2019.
According to Tajik Film governmental institute, the statue of Ismoil Somoni, one the renowned Samanid rulers, which is located in the center of Dushanbe city, has been chosen for the logo of the festival.
At this Festival, cinema activists from the CIS and Shanghani member countries as well as Dushanbe sister cities will participate and 20 films will compete in two sections of international and national cinema.
The Festival is the initiative of the Republic of Tajikistan, Dushanbe municipality and Tajik Film governmental institute to be held biannually on the occasion of the day of the capital city of Tajikistan.
The Festival aims to foster cooperation between Tajikistan's cinema activities and those of their counterparts and expose them to the best accomplishments of the world cinematographers.
At the sidelines of the event, there will be a ceremony to honor the accomplishments of Boris Kimiagarov, the renowned Tajik director.
Those interested to participate in the Festival may submit their entries to the festival secretariat at www.dushanbeiff.tj not later than March 1, 2020.
