The exhibition 'Farabi, Thinker of the East' was held at the library of Petropavlovsk city in Kazakhstan.
According to ECI public relations quoting Khabar 24 news agency of Kazakhstan, the exhibition was held at the initiative of Petropavlovsk governor on the occasion of 1150 birth anniversary of Farabi and around 100 books on the life and works of this great scientist were put on display. The first visitors of the exhibition were students who were briefed by the staff on the works of this middle-ages scientist. The exhibit will run till the end of the year and items will be added for display.
Ms. Maira Ashimova, the director of Science section of the library told the reporters: 'Not everybody knows that Farabi was also a poet and in the sixth volume of his works, it is written that Farabi goes to Bagdad to learn new things. There, at the land of the Arabs, he writes poems and it is very unfortunate that only a part of them have survived so far.'
