The book titled 'Human & the Sea: A Review of Thousands Years of Relationship Between Humans and the Sea in Iran' was published by Iran National Museum in Cooperation with Iran Ports and Maritime Organization.
According to ECI public relations quoting IRNA, Jebrael Nokandeh, the director of Iran National Museum said in this regard: 'the book is the result of the cooperation of Iran National Museum, Iran Ports and Maritime Organization and the Iranian National Institute for Oceanography and Atmospheric Science that first appeared in an exhibition of works related to sea and sailing that narrates the background of more than thirty thousand years of humans relationship with the sea since Upper Paleolithic era towards the end of Qajar dynasty in Iran. He further added that the book contains 17 articles and the catalog of the works displayed at the exhibition.
Moreover, according to Fereydoon Biglari, deputy director of Iran National Museum in Cultural Affairs, the papers presented in this book have been written in Persian and English and covers subjects such as natural background of the Persian Gulf and Caspian Sea, the history of utilizing maritime resources and the role of such resources in the economy of ancient societies, the importance of sea in Iran's ancient empires particularly the Achaemenids, ports and maritime trade and others.
He then continued that the book also contains photos and information of all the objects displayed at the above mentioned exhibition.
It is worth mentioning that the book has been published in full colors in 208 pages.
