In Tajikistan, the number of libraries has significantly increased.
According to ECI public relations quoting Tajikistan's Khovar news agency, the establishment of libraries in different organizations of this country have increased and for instance, recently 300 libraries were opened in Khatlon province of the country. Moreover, on April 28, 2020 an equipped library was opened in the Finance Department of Khatlon province which contains more than 15,000 books. The library has been equipped with modern facilities and both the Department staff and public could use its rich resources.
In a message to the Supreme Assembly of this country, Emomali Rahmon, Tajikistan's President, emphasized on the profound attention of the country's citizens to books and reading and also the necessity of establishing libraries in different organizations, ministries and their respective departments.
It is worth mentioning that recently, Tajikistan has witnessed a surge in studying and reading and to this purpose, several book reading competitions have been organized across the country.
