ECI President and the Chairman of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) met on June 9, 2020 and discussed ways of devising a guideline for joint cooperation between the two key cultural organizations.
According to ECI public relations, while appreciating the cooperation rendered by ICRO in the past, Sarvar Bakhti, the ECI president, expressed hope that the collaborations of the two organizations will expand more in the future. Then the ECI president went on highlighting ECI's potentials and proposed reviving the ECO National Commission, carrying out joint programs across the region and implementing projects particularly focusing on Persian language in the regional countries.
Further at the meeting, Turkaman, the ICRO Chairman, pointed to the fact that the Organization has 85 branches in different countries and welcomed the proposals of ECI president. He then expressed ICRO's preparedness to further develop cooperation with ECI and devise a guideline for cooperation.
Turkaman then invited ECI to carry out substantial, lasting projects and reiterated that ECI should make efforts to better promote the luminaries of the ECO region and to this purpose, Iran's cultural consulates in ECO countries will assist the Institute in this regard.
