1800-Year-Old Mosaic on Display at Amasya Museum
A 1,800-year-old mosaic has been put on display at Amasya Museum.

According to ECI public relations quoting Anatoly news agency, a mosaic decorated with apples motifs, discovered and unearthed during excavations in 2013 conducted by the archeological team of Hitit University Black Sea Archeology Application and Research Center, is now exhibited at the city's central Museum.
The 20-square-meter medallion mosaic dating back to the Roman period, estimated to be 1800 years old , portrays the history of Amasya's apples in pictures.
Güngör Duran, the president of Amasya Tourism Association told Anatoly reporter: "Displaying this mosaic at Amasya museum will attract attentions. Moreover, the mosaic gives an idea of the history of apple as one of the main products of this province". He went on saying that the mosaic may have been located in a garden belonging to one of the landowners of apples gardens of the period. During the Byzantine period, the house had been turned into church".
