The proposal of Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to hold a special meeting to discuss issues regarding the fight against the new coronavirus (COVID-19) has been supported by more than 130 countries
Hikmat Hajiyev, Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration, said that Ilham Aliyev's proposal for holding a special meeting at the UN General Assembly on the subject of fighting against corona virus was supported by more than 130 countries.
Pointing to the lack of sufficient global solidarity in fight against COVID-19, Hajiyev said that countries' differences in viewpoints hinder such fight and added: "Aliyev made this proposal for global solidarity. We hope that the meeting is organized at the earliest. The world needs to work together promoptly."
