Uzbekistan is taking finals steps in filming a movie on the life and works of Mahmood Khwaja Behboodi.
According to ECO Cultural Institute quoting Sputnik, the filming of Behboodi's life in prison and his final days is going on in Bukhara while other parts of the film were shot in Samarkand and Tashkent. The Uzbek National Cinema Company 'Uzbek Kino' recently began producing a documentary on the life and works of Mahmoud Khwaja Behboodi, a historical figure and the founder of Uzbek drama. The events of the film are based on historical events of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The film directors, Baqa and Ulughbek Sadeqov have said that the movie is being made on the occasion of the 145th birth anniversary of this intellectual.
