Largest Sports Complex Opens in Tajikistan
Attended by H.E. Emomali Rahmon, Tajikistan president; Rostam Emomali, National Assembly Speaker and Dushanbe Mayor, a large tennis and swimming complex was inaugurated in Dushanbe city.

According to ECO Cultural Institute, quoting Tajikistan's Khovar news agency, the complex is the largest tennis and swimming structure in the country, built over an area of 10 hectares. The construction of the building began in 2012 and 15 domestic and 5 foreign companies have been involved in its construction. More than 500 people have helped its construction and the complex have created 200 job opportunities. 
The complex includes indoor and outdoor sports grounds, a tennis court with the capacity to seat 3,000 people, a 2000-seat Palace of Water Sports. The outdoor swimming pool has 27 elevators, 8 outdoor tennis courts and parking lots for 300 cars.
Covering an area of more than 20,000 square meters, the water sports complex consists of 3 floors with its water temperature being 26 degrees in all year round. The depth of the ponds ranges from 0.7 to 6 meters and is intended for all ages. Moreover, the complex is equipped with recording video system. 
The tennis complex has 5 floors and is built over an area of 40,000 square meters.
At the inaugural ceremony of the sports complex, Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon, stressed the need for the development of sports in the country, and being opened concurrently with the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence, he called the measure 'auspicious'.
