Qazvini Quran, one the world's masterpieces in illuminating Quran, is being kept at Iran National Library and Archives.
According to ECO Cultural Institute quoting Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), Qazvini Quran which dates back to 1805, is one of the world's masterpieces of art in the field of Quran illumination and each page of this Quran contain a specific type of illumination.
'Zein al-Abedin Qazvini' quran is an exquisite and precious Quran has 547 pages and over 600 different illuminations from every school of illumination that existed in Iran at the time, which is one of the reasons that makes it a unique work.
Nearly four kilograms of pure gold and precious stones were used in illuminating it and 35 masters of art worked on it for about 10 years.
The unique features of this Quran had led some Saudi and English collectors to buy it at any possible price, but fortunately, its last owner refused to do so and finally, it was given to NLAI in 2008.
