On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence, the country's cinemas are set to be renovated to their pre-independence status.
According to ECO Cultural Institute quoting Khovar news agency of Tajikistan, Mahmadsaid Shohiyon, director of the Tojikfilm Institute, Tajikistan's largest film institute, said that 30 cinemas are under the auspices of this Institute, most of which are very old and inoperative.
This year, 'Tojikfilm' will be 90 years old, and the Institute has so far made 1234 films all of which will be included in a single list and screened at Kourosh cinema in Dushanbe on Cinema Day.
It is worth mentioning that October 16 has been declared Cinema Day in Tajikistan.
