Abdul Shakir Nurmatov, a Media Scholar
Chairman of the Council of Muftis of the Kyrgyz Republic is one of Kyrgyz Sunni scholars who has carried out outstanding religious as well as media activities.

According to the ECO Cultural Institute quoting the public relations of the Organization of Islamic Culture and Communication, quoted by Rasa News Agency, Abdul Shakir Normatov was born on February 8, 1968 in the village of Qarabagh in Batkand Province. In 1993, he graduated from Imam Bukhari University in Tashkent, and in 2000, he graduated from Al-Azhar University in Egypt. In 2010 Noramatov was recognized as a graduate of Osh State University in southern Kyrgyzstan.

He is the author of several books in the field of religion, including "Principles of Islam", "The Way to Paradise", "Change Your Life!", And "Eternal Life". Abdul Shakir Normatov is also chairman of the Council of Muftis of the Kyrgyz Republic and imam of the Aisha Mosque in Bishkek. He is fluent in Kyrgyz, Russian, Uzbek, Arabic, Turkish and Persian.
