An Afghan well-known literary figure, poet and top writer of the country passed away at 90.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute as quoted by Hamshahri online website, Sulaiman Layeq an Afghan well-known literary figure, poet and top writer passed away in Kabul at 90.
The cause of his death was the injuries he sustained in an explosion in Kabul last year, according to his relatives.
He was one of the founders of the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan, but has not been politically active in recent years. Sulaiman Layeq was promoted to lead the Academy of Sciences, and also was the Minister of Nationalities and Tribal Affairs. Layeq was an inspirational poet and writer who published several books on poetry in Afghanistan.
