Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov, the famous Kazakh wrestler, and holder of world and Olympic, died at 69.
According to ECO Cultural Institute quoting IRNA, the famous Kazakh wrestler had won world and Olympic gold medals in Greco-Roman wrestling.
Ushkempirov won Kazakhstan's first gold medal at the 1980 Moscow Olympics in -48 kg weight category of Greco-Roman wrestling and was named Kazakhstan's national star.
He also won world's gold medal at the 1981 World Championships.
Ushkempirov was also inducted into the UWW Hall of Fame in 2014.
