A memorandum of understanding for the government's financial support of the 9th season of the Afghan Football Premier League was signed today in Kabul.
The season will begin on September 24, with the top eight teams from the eight zones of the country.
"This year, the Afghanistan Premier League will be held with the support of the government of the Republic of Afghanistan and with the support of the president. As in previous years, the Moby Group and the Ministry of Information and Culture will jointly coordinate this program," said Tahir Zahir, the information and culture minister.
"The president of Afghanistan and the vice president pay attention to sports, athletes and champions as much as possible, and this is the case with the Afghan Premier League, which is organized by the Football Federation and Moby Group," said Rezwan Murad, the head of the media and public affairs department of the Office of the First Vice President.
The Ministry of Information and Culture, on behalf of the government, has paved the way for the league competition.
The matches are scheduled to run for 15 days, and Moby Group will provide live coverage of the competition on TOLO and LEMAR TV channels.
"We want to take this opportunity to introduce the values of the country over the last twenty years to the world through football, and to reach the homes of the citizens of the country through television, as well as to introduce the real face of Afghanistan to the world," said Shafiq Ghawhari, CEO of Moby Group.
Despite the threat of the coronavirus, football federation officials said the league will be held following certain health measures and with a limited number of spectators.

Teams:
Toofan Harirod from the west zone
