During a telephone conversation, the Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan reviewed the schedule and other organizational issues of the upcoming bilateral and multilateral events at various levels, including under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the CIS.
According to ECO Cultural Institute quoting Fars news agency, at the beginning of the telephone conversation, Abdulaziz Kamilov congratulated Jeyhun Bayramov on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Foreign ministers emphasized that despite the new circumstances caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Uzbekistan - Azerbaijan cooperation is actively developing, the trade turnover from January to July this year has increased by 163%.
The development of bilateral cooperation including the increase of trade turnover between the countries amid pandemic was stressed.
The sides also discussed the issues of holding the next meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The cooperation in the framework of international organizations, as well as the issues related to the current chairmanship of Uzbekistan within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) were discussed.
Ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
