Tajikistan's Deputy Foreign Minister and the Kyrgyz Ambassador to Tajikistan met in Dushanbe and discussed mutual relations and boarder issues.
According to ECO Cultural Institute quoting Kabar.kg, during the meeting Zhanysh Rustenbekov, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Tajikistan, briefed Deputy Foreign Minister Muzaffar Huseynzoda about the current internal political situation in Kyrgyzstan and the new government of the Kyrgyz Republic, headed by Acting President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, who make efforts to reform the system of public administration and noted that the situation in the country has stabilized and political processes are developing in the legal field.
The ambassador emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic remains fully committed to all its international obligations and strict implementation of all previously signed bilateral and multilateral treaties and agreements.
The sides also discussed the prospects for building up bilateral cooperation at the level of heads of state, government and foreign affairs agencies of the two countries, as well as considered topical issues of mutually beneficial Kyrgyz-Tajik relations in political, water-energy, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres, including joint interaction within the framework of regional and international organizations. Special attention was paid to the issues of delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border.
The Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister also said during the meeting that Tajikistan is looking forward for convening of the meeting of the intergovernmental commission on border issues between the two countries to reach a final agreement border issues.
Huseynzoda also stressed the need to strengthen economic, trade, water and energy collaborations as well as transport, tourism and cultural relations with Kyrgyzstan.
Following the meeting, confidence was expressed that the existing friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan would continue to serve as a basis for further mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthening good-neighborliness.
