Commemoration of Kamal Khujandi at ECO Cultural Institute
The commemoration ceremony of the celebrated poet and mystic Kamal Khujandi will be held by ECO Cultural Institute in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran on December 12-17, 2020, which coincides with Iran Virtual Book Fair.

According to ECO Cultural Institute, the decision was made at the meeting of Sarvar Bakhti, the president of ECO Cultural Institute, with Alireza Esmaili, executive and coordination advisor to the deputy Minister of Culture in Cultural Affairs and a number of the specialists of this Ministry held at ECI headquarters.
It was decided that on the occasion of the 700th birth anniversary of Kamal Khujandi, a virtual program will be held in which the ECI president, the Minister of Culture as well as scholars of Kamal studies from Afghanistan, Iran and Tajikistan will participate; some of the books published by ECI on the occasion, including 'Life and Works of Kamal Khujandi' written by Dr. Badruddin Maghsoudzadeh and 'Forty Percept of Kamal Khojandi' written by Suraya Hassan Sultan as well as a music album titled 'Songs on Kamal's Poetry' will be launched and reviewed. Furthermore, a virtual calligraphy exhibition displaying selections of Kamal's poems will be mounted and some billboards of Kamal's poetry will be installed across Tehran city.
Kamaluddin Masoud Khujandi, known as Sheikh Kamal and Kamal Khujandi, was one of the great Persian-speaking mystics and poets of the 8th century Lunar Hijri. He was born in Khujand, Tajikistan and buried in Tabriz, Iran.
