Women’s Handicraft Expo Opens in Herat
An expo for women's handmade products and handicrafts under the name "Bright Tomorrow" opened in Herat. The Expo was organized by the DRS Aid Foundation in cooperation with the Herat Department of Women's Affairs in form of a campaign to prevent violence against women.

Welcoming the opening of the Expo, Herat Governor Seyed Abdul Wahid Zahed Qatali, called on citizens to contribute to their economic growth by producing and consuming women's products.
Sarvari, the director of Herat Women's Affairs, said that the purpose of holding this expo was to help the women become economically self-sufficient as well as introducing and marketing their handicrafts.
Businesswomen in Herat asked the authorities to increase the duration of the Expo or to establish a permanent expo.
In total 20 stalls make up the expo which will be open to the public for three days with an aim to help women become self-reliant and earn a good living.
