The Afghanistan Information Center (ACKU) was established in 1989 as a central depository for information on Afghanistan. Since its inception, the center has collected more than 170,000 historical documents about Afghanistan.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, most of the historical documents are in Persian, Pashto and English. These documents were collected from state agencies, UN agencies, non-governmental organizations, researchers and international observers.
ACKU serves as an information hub that collects and preserves documents about Afghanistan in digital and print format. The center holds the richest research resources on Afghanistan in its archive and is a good platform for research programs and projects.
