President of the ECO Cultural Institute, Sarvar Bakhti, at the opening ceremony of "Raqs-e Qalam", the Int`l Calligraphy Exhibition on Silk Road, which was held on January 20, 2021 in the Great Museum of Khorasan, Mashhad, called the art of calligraphy as a mean to bring the people of the region together.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, President of the ECO Cultural Institute, Sarvar Bakhti,, at the opening ceremony of "Raqs-e Qalam", the Int`l Calligraphy Exhibition on Silk Road, which was held on January 20, 2021 in Mashhad, said: "the art of calligraphy has a long history and indicates that the people of this region has a shared history and common cultural heritage.
In this speech, President of the ECO Cultural Institute reaffirmed the role of art in the convergence of nations through holding such prestigious events.
Sarvar Bakhti called introducing the magnificent art of the region as one of the priorities of the ECO Cultural Institute and other cultural organizations and said: "The art of calligraphy is an eternal heritage which has remained thriving throughout the history."
Calligraphy works by 234 artists from 30 countries were showcased at the Raqs-e Qalam International Exhibition and Conference of the Silk Road Calligraphy, which officially opened on January 20 in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad.
The Iranian National Commission for UNESCO was the organizer of the exhibition which was hosted by the Municipality of Mashhad in which artworks from ECO member countries were displayed.
