Tajik-German to Expand Scientific and Tourism Cooperation
Tajikistan's ambassador to Germany meets with senior German diplomat to urge Berlin to join Dushanbe energy projects.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, quoting the Voice of Khorasan, Sohib-Nazar Qayrat-Shoh met with Johann Zeithauff, Member of Parliament and in charge of coordinating cooperation with Russia, Central Asia and the countries participating in the Eastern Partnership program at the German Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, they discussed the current status and prospects of Tajikistan's relations with Germany, the expansion of economic and trade cooperation, energy, science and tourism, and security developments in the region.
Tajikistan's ambassador to Germany called on Berlin to invest in the projects, citing Tajikistan's energy potential, including the construction of hydropower, wind and solar power plants.
He stressed that Tajikistan was considering environmental issues when building the power plants.
The German official also welcomed the expansion of economic and trade, energy, science and tourism cooperation with Tajikistan.
The German government has provided nearly €20 million in free aid for the construction and reconstruction of hydropower plants in Badakhshan province.
