Rumi’s Father’s Monastery and Abu Rihan’s Tomb Reconstruction
The monastery of Maulana’s father and the tomb of Abu Rihan al-Biruni will be rebuilt.
The Ministry of Information and Culture of Afghanistan has announced that it is rebuilding the monastery of Bahauddin Walid, the father of Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi, a famous poet and mystic, in his hometown of Balkh. The ministry’s deputy director of publishing told the BBC that the tomb of the orientalist scientist and astronomer Abu Rihan al-Biruni in Ghazni was also to be rebuilt.
Abdul Manan Shiva Shargh added that a mosque, a museum, a hall for cultural programs, and a hall for Sama dance will be built next to the monastery of Maulana’s father. He said that the museum of this monastery keeps all the works belonging to Rumi.
