According to the ECO Cultural Institute, quoting Fars News Agency in Tashkent, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbek President, in a video conference stressed the need to revive and develop the country's tourism and sports potential, given the need to follow a health protocol in the face of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The President of Uzbekistan said: “Tourism in Uzbekistan is one of the strategic economic areas of development, which has created all the necessary conditions for its development at the same time as issuing decrees.”
Mirziyoyev continued: “In this regard, visa-free conditions for citizens of 86 countries and electronic visas for citizens of 53 countries have been implemented.”
He stressed: “It is planned to attract 1.7 million foreign tourists and 7.5 million local tourists in 2021, as well as to increase the export of services in this field to the equivalent of $370 million.”
