Afghan MMA Fighter Defeats Russian Rival in EFC
Afghan MMA fighter defeated his Russian opponent, in his opponent’s home.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, quoting Bakhtar News Agency, Hussain Bakhsh Safari, Afghan mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter defeated his Russian rival Aktyabrin Yakovlev. Both opponents fit the 65kg weight class, and fought inside in the cage at EFC in Moscow.
The match was held at the Eagle Fighting Championship EFC in Moscow, and Safari was able to defeat Yakovlev.
The Afghan MMA fighter won his first gold medal in Jujitsu at Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Turkmenistan back in September 2017. Safari was reportedly the first Afghan fighter to fight in the EFC.
