Vichir Institute (Sham) was established to introduce the history, culture and art of the people of the East.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, quoting day.az, Vichir Institute has screened films by famous directors from Asia, the Caucasus and Africa in several venues in Moscow. The film “Dashti”, by Azerbaijani director Shamil Aliyev was demonstrated at the Nikersov Library in the Russian capital last week.
According to Alice Orchuk, one of the organizers of the project, the screening of the film represented the Turkish cinema to the audiences. Azerbaijani cinema is rich in its traditions which began to flourish in the 1970s.
Russian audiences will be acquainted with the works of other Azerbaijani directors in the coming days.
