An Afghan delegation headed by Dr. Abbas Basir, Minister of Higher Education of Afghanistan, paid a visit to Istanbul Marmara University during their visit to Turkey and spoke with the university deans about academic cooperation.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, quoting by Bakhtar Agency, during the meeting, Prof. Erol Özvar, the university rector, welcomed the Minister of Higher Education and his accompanying delegation to the University. He illustrated the status of Afghan students and the educational services and facilities offered to domestic and foreign students in the university.
The Minister of Higher Education also provided information regarding the universities and institutes of higher education in Afghanistan, the role of scientific and research cooperation, the exchange of knowledge, professors and students to gain experiences, scholarships, services and facilities and called for more cooperation in these fields.
At the end of the meeting, the rector of Marmara University of Istanbul assured the Minister of Higher Education of the promotion of cooperation between the universities of the two countries and expressed his interest in visiting the universities of Afghanistan.
