Local Turkmen media reported on the Turkish President's upcoming visit to Ashgabat.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, quoting Fars News Agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced his upcoming visit to Turkmenistan in a message congratulating his Turkmen counterpart on his birthday.
The message reads: "I am looking forward to seeing you on my upcoming trip to Turkmenistan."
The Turkish President expressed confidence that during the visit, joint steps in the field of bilateral cooperation, which form the agenda of interstate relations, will be discussed.
According to Erdogan, the pace of development in relations between Turkey and Turkmenistan, which share common cultural values, reflects the two countries' mutual desire to develop co-operation in all fields.
In his message, Erdogan called Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow "dear brother" and wished him health and success.
Recently, issues related to Erdogan's visit were discussed by the foreign ministers of the two countries.
The exact date of the visit is not specified, but the trip will probably take place in July this year.
The trip is also expected to include a trilateral summit with the leaders of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan, during which important agreements will be signed.
