The 9th International Festival of Traditional Culture in the Republic of Dagestan is being held in the city of Makhach Qala with the participation of various music groups from several countries and different regions of Russia as well as a music group from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Dagestan International Folk Music Festival was held from June 30 to July 5 with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, participated by bands from 9 countries, including Iran. .
Aeen traditional music group, which is representing Iran in Dagestan, also performed at the opening ceremony of the festival.
The performance of music by Aeen group, which was welcomed by the attendees and viewers of the festival, first started with a poem by Khayyam Neyshabouri and then the instrumental piece of music "Jazr o Mad" (tide) was performed. The performance of the representative of Iran was a ballad based on Rumi's poems, which was well received by the audience of the festival.
According to the Russian State Concert Institute, this year the best folk groups from the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Serbia, India, Azerbaijan, Dagestan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the regions of Russia will participate in the festival. It is expected that more than 12,000 people will come to watch the festival.
