New Book on the Kart dynasty of Herat Published
Baysunghur Research Institute in Herat will publish Lawrence Potter's book " The Kart dynasty of Herat: Religion and politics in medieval Iran " translated by Mohammadullah Afzali.
The Kart Dynasty mentioned in this book were a group of rulers in Khorasan during 643 to 783. The first ruler of the dynasty, and in fact its founder, was King Shamsuddin Muhammad bin Abu Bakr, whose lineage traces back to the Kings of Ghurid dynasty. The capital of this dynasty was the city of Herat and a total of eight monarchs found the opportunity to rule. The Kart Dynasty was overthrown by Amir Timour Gurkani.
Baysunghur Research Institute had previously published the book "'Kart Dynasty of Herat" written by the late Ali Mohammad Zahma, and will also publish another book about this important dynasty entitled "The Dynasty of the Kart" written by Jalaluddin Seddighi.

Mohammadullah Afzali, the translator of this book is a diplomat, writer, poet and former professor at Herat University. He is the author of books such as "Afghan Mystics in India" and "The Glory of the Daggers" and currently serves as a senior diplomat in the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Turkmenistan.
