According to the ECO Cultural Institute, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated the Turkish women's national volleyball team on their 3-0 victory over China in the Tokyo Olympics.
President Erdoğan spoke by phone with Eda Erdem Dündar, captain of the crescent-star team, through Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, who was in Tokyo for the games and watched the national athletes compete.
During the phone conversation, President Erdoğan said to Captain Eda, "You pulled at my heartstrings. I watched the match from the first set. I send my love to all of our girls. Inshallah, I will watch your match against Italy on Tuesday."
