SECP plans one-window facility for businesswomen in Pakistan
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has assured the business community that it will set up a one-window facility for women entrepreneurs in a bid to eliminate barriers to company registration and other tasks.
According to a statement issued on Thursday, SECP Additional Registrar Syed Iftikharul Hassan Naqvi and Woman Registrar Fauzia Rashid promised to consider the establishment of the one-window facility at the SECP to assist women entrepreneurs.
During a meeting of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Women Entrepreneurs Standing Committee, Naqvi discussed the difficulties faced by female entrepreneurs in the company registration process.
He told the participants that the duration of company registration was being minimised and after simplification of the procedure, it could be done within four hours.
“If a company mimics a logo or uses someone else’s logo illegally, an urgent petition should be filed against it and immediate action will be taken,” the statement quoted SECP officials as saying.
Speaking on the occasion, FPCCI Women Entrepreneurs Standing Committee Convener Nazli Abid Nisar urged the SECP officials to provide business facilities for women entrepreneurs and facilitate company registration. She endorsed the plan for establishing a one-window facility.
She called for the promotion of women entrepreneurship and provision of equal business opportunities.
“Laws should be drafted to provide protection to the businesses owned by women entrepreneurs,” she said.
