President of Kazakhstan, appoints Serikkali Brekeshev as the new Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, quoting Fars News Agency in Dushanbe, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, signed a decree appointing Serikkali Brekeshev as the new Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources.
The Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan has been assigned important tasks to ensure the effective implementation of the new Environmental Code, the preparation of a Low-Carbon Development Concept, an increase in the area of the forest fund, and the further development of the water resources management system and fisheries.
Serikkali Brekeshev was born on Oct. 14, 1972, in Pavlodar. In 1995 he graduated from the Atyrau Polytechnic Institute with a degree in oil and gas field development.
Over the years, he held executive positions in the Ministries of Energy and Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, KazTransGas JSC. Since March 2020, he has held the post of Vice Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
