ECO Cultural Institute hosts symposium "From Daf to Kordestan"
The symposium "From Daf to Kordestan" was held on Thursday, November 25, 2021, at the ECO Cultural Institute in cooperation with Dang Dang Kooban Cultural and Arts Institute in the presence of music maestros.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, at the beginning of the event, a video message of Professor Sarvar Bakhti, President, ECO Cultural Institute, was played in which ECI President emphasized the place of music in the ECO region.
"Music as the most influential art in human life has always been effective and the greats of our literature have always stressed on it. From Rudaki, the father of Persian poetry, our poets have tried to compose their soulful poems in harmony with music. Meanwhile, Daf, one of the oldest man-made instruments, has a special place in the music of the peoples of our region. The artist sends out the sound of his/her heart by playing Daf, and this melody blends with the symphony of the heavens. The Daf player harmonizes his/her soul with it and their inner feelings are harmonized in that module. " Said Prof. Bakhti in his message.
In the ECO region, Daf instrument is available in different shapes, sizes and names. The style of playing and even its sound is different in each country.
Then Mr. Shahab Ghasemi, Managing Director of Dang Dang Kooban Institute, Mr. Hamed Sohrabi, author of the book "From Daf to Kordestan", Dr. Karimian Sardashti, literary researcher, Mr. Hossein Safamanesh, a popular vocalist, Mr. Mehdi Gholami, one of the doyens of Daf instrument, delivered their speeches.
