Sarvar Bakhti and Shahram Azimi stress revival of ECO sports diplomacy
Officials of the Iran's Ministry of Sports and Youth of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the ECO Cultural Institute in their second specialized meeting emphasized the revival of joint sports and cultural activities of ECO member countries as soon as possible with the aim of expanding sports diplomacy among the nations of the ECO region.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, at the meeting, which was attended by Professor Sarvar Bakhti, President, ECO Cultural Institute and Dr. Shahram Azimi, Iranian Deputy Minister of Sports and Youth for International Affairs, and held at the ECO Cultural Institute, the two sides first presented a report on the follow-up of the decisions of the previous meeting.
At the meeting, Sarvar Bakhti, who has recently participated in the recent ECO Summit in Turkmenistan, said that his remarks on "Sports Diplomacy among ECO member states" was welcomed by the member states. 
"To revive sports diplomacy among ECO member states, relevant organizations should join hands" he stressed. 
Later at the meeting, Dr. Shahram Azimi, Iranian Deputy Minister of Sports and Youth for International Affairs stated that the draft Memorandum of Understanding between Iran's Ministry of Sports and Youth and the ECO Cultural Institute is ready for final consideration. The MoU will be signed in Tehran by Dr. Hamid Sajjadi, Minister of Sports and Youth, and Professor Sarvar Bakhti, President of the ECO Cultural Institute.
In addition, the experts present at the meeting also expressed their views for better joint activities.
Mohammad Mahmoudi, Special Assistant to the President of the ECO Cultural Institute, Alireza Bagheri, Advisor and Representative of the ECO Cultural Institute for Sports Activities, Dr. Mina Rezaei, ECO Cultural Institute Health Tourism Advisor, as well as Mr. Haddadi and Mr. Ghazizadeh from the Ministry of Sports were present at the meeting.
