A presentation of a book with various versions of the folk epic "Alpomish" and audio albums "Collection of Bakhshi" held at the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan
In the State Museum of Literature named after Alisher Navoi of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the scientific conference "Performance of Uzbek folk epics" was held.

Within the framework of the event, a presentation of a book was held, which presents various versions of the folk epic "Alpomish" and audio albums "Collection of Bakhshi".

Recall that the art of performing folk epics of bakhshi on December 16, 2021 was included by UNESCO in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This has become an international recognition of the attention paid to the preservation of the art of bakhshi - a vibrant direction of folklore.

According to experts, there are more than forty versions of the Uzbek folk epic "Alpomish", which is characterized by a variety of styles of performance in the schools of bakhshi of Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya.

Researcher Oktam Khakimov, during his creative expeditions, collected creative versions of the epos of 18 bakhshi and prepared them for publication. The book pays special attention to the originality of the performance of epics, live music and dubbing, the traditions of the teacher-student.

People's bakhshi of Uzbekistan Abdunazar Poyanov noted that the text of the book itself, when added to live sound and words, becomes a living song and affects the souls and hearts of people. In this sense, the audio album "Collection of Bakhshi" is one of the most effective ways to preserve and pass on to the next generations the rich cultural heritage of our people.
