The book "Nart Nameh" launched at the ECI
The book "Nart Nameh" was launched on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the international conference hall of the ECO Cultural Institute.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, the book "Nart Nameh: The Literary Epic of Ossetians (Iranians of North Caucasus)" was launched in the presence of diplomats from different countries and a group of university professors. The book launch event was held simultaneously with Yalda ancient celebration at the ECI.
During the ceremony, Dr. Abdollah Motamedi, president of Allameh Tabataba'i University, expressed his gratitude to ECO Cultural Institute for launching the book "Nart Nameh", and said: "The common concepts of the literary epic of Ossetians (Iranians of the North Caucasus) and the ancient literature of Iran can lead to joint studies by the Iranian and Russian researchers."
He further added: "The book displays ancient literature and culture of the Ossetians, who are an Iranian ethnic group residing in the mountains of the Caucasus. And according to the translators, the two professors of Allameh Tabataba'i University, the fact that the Osset people are aware of and interested in their Iranian descent is noteworthy. This has made them into fascinated and effective activists in the promotion of relations between Iran and the Russian Federation."
The book "Nart Nameh" contains the epics of the Nart people, which are mixed with folklore signs and have Iranian roots. This book was translated by Dr. Musa Abdollahi and Dr. Maryam Moradi, faculty members of Allameh Tabataba'i University, in collaboration with the State University of North Ossetia, and was published by Negarestan-e Andisheh Publishing House.
